UNSC
As the primary organ responsible for maintaining international peace and security, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) stands at the heart of the global institutional order. However, geopolitical tensions, new types of conflict, and questions of legitimacy and representation are challenging its effectiveness and credibility.
In this committee, delegates will debate how global security institutions — especially the UNSC — can adapt to meet modern threats while remaining inclusive and representative. Should the Council be reformed to better reflect today’s geopolitical realities? How can it strengthen partnerships with regional organizations, NGOs, and other global actors? What role should it play in addressing emerging challenges such as cyber threats, disinformation, or climate-related security risks?
